Will this gizmo allow a SSD in a 2008 Mac Pro

Hi everyone,

I have a 3,1 2008 Mac Pro with a Samsung 830 SSD in bay 1, resting on something on the fan enclosure to take the weight off of the SATA connectors.

I've seen this http://intrl.startech.com/HDD/Adapters~25SATSAS35 and wondered if there was any reason why this wouldn't work in my Mac pro, as it would be handy if I wanted to add a second SSD.

Not positive on that exact one, but a few people have used the Icy Dock and similar mounting solutions without issue:

I had seen a sled bracket for 2.5" drives for pre-2009 Mac Pro's at one point, but can't seem to find the link right now at all. It was a similar design to this one (but this will not work with your model):

+1 on NewerTech AdaptaDrive. It allows the sled in my Mac Pro to position a Samsung SSD perfectly to allow smooth plugging in.
