Will this iMac suit my needs?

Hey everyone. I am looking at purchasing the i7 27" iMac. For a few reasons:

-Would like the additional screen size
-Video editing, Photoshop, Aperture, etc
-HD Video playback via Youtube, Hulu, Netflix
-Gaming Examples: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights 2, PS2/PSX Emulators + some classics

While I would imagine that the i7 will more than suit my needs from a processing perspective - I was taking a look at some benchmarks online. Will the GPU be able to perform well for these games? I never play any fast paced First Person Shooters, Racing Games, etc.. generally more slow paced strategy/rpg's.

I currently have a Radeon HD 4850 in my PC (with a 3.0 OC'd C2D Processor) which scores 1,333 on PassMark software. The HD 5750 scores a 1,440. There are times where I feel like the games I play now need more juice, but maybe they are being bottle-necked by my CPU?? I would really prefer an iMac as I am a huge fan of OSX and the beautiful display - but I am worried that I might be a bit disappointed in the GPU department and perhaps I should either: 1. Wait for the next revision 2. Say forget it and build a high end PC + Cinema Display... but I know I would miss OSX. I prefer NOT to build a Hackintosh.

I also understand according to the buyer's guide that the iMac is mid-cycle... so I could be waiting for awhile if I decide not to pull the plug on this gen. Any thoughts are welcome. And please be nice to the newbie.

Those graphics are more than adequate for what you need, you don't have the slightest worry

iMac should be okay for those games but if you want to play them at the highest settings and with high FPS, then iMac may not be the best choice. Your PC is pretty decent so it might even outperform the iMac.

New iMacs are expected some time in H1 2011. I would say around March-April. That's pretty long wait, I wouldn't start waiting. Current iMac is sufficient for you but it's a compromise in terms of gaming performance. A PC would perform a lot better. However, the games you mentioned aren't that intensive so I think an iMac should be fine.
