Hello, I have a quick question about using this memory in a 2013 Mac Pro.

My friend is parting out a server and has offered to sell me these sticks of memory but I'd like to know if they're compatible with the Mac Pro.
Thanks in advance!

Don't know if my thoughts bring something or are worthless.
The specs seem to be the specs of the right RAM.
However when I bought my additional RAM from a local dealer, the Kingston brand had one which was specifically indicated for the nMP and another, with apparently similar specs and less expensive, but not mentioned for the nMP. Since I bought 4 pieces of 15 GB each and the total amount of money was for my budget quite high, I did not want to take any risk, so I chose the one the manufacturer indicated specifically for the mMP.
Who knows?
There might be differences regarding the number of chips in each DIMM, the CAS latency or other differences only an expert might recognize. Otherwise why would one RAM be advised and the other with similar specs not be advised for the nMP?
I am no expert so I went the safe way.
If something happened to my nMP after inserting that new RAM, I could complain to the seller of the RAM and to Apple because of that unmistakable recommendation.
The RAM you mention is "for some reason" offered for the HP and not for the nMP. The question is to know that reason and if the effects are important or can be neglected.
If you can try the RAM of your friend before buying it, you should know if it works OK.
There is always a theoretical risk with everything you try without the clear backing of the manufacturer but if you can get it much cheaper I personally would try it. However it is your computer, your risk and your decision....
