I'm not very good at understanding the whole RAM side of things with iMac, but I want to make sure I'm buying the right one.

This is the one I currently have my eyes on "Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) CL17 DR x8 Unbuffered" but I am unsure whether it's compatible with my new iMac 21.5'' 2017 ver?

Does the 27'' and 21.5'' iMac have the same spec requirements when choosing RAMS, or do they both require different types of RAM?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Whether the ram modules are compatible or not won't matter since you would have take the 2017 21.5" iMac completely apart in order to replace or add memory. And that would void your warranty. The memory modules on the 2017 21.5" iMac are not user accessible. Only the 2017 27" iMac has user accessible memory.

Unless you're really good at taking apart iMacs....just pay the apple tax for the ram upgrade for the 21.5 models
