Hiya Guys,

First post in here so I'll say sorry now if this has been said/answered, although a quick look didnt show anything.

Basically I love using NAS Hard Drives, I have a 1TB (mirrored for safety) and a 320GB single.

Now I currently store all my music, videos, movies, itunes tv shows etc on the main NAS box?.

Will AppleTV be able to recognize the NAS box with my itunes stuff and play it through AppleTV or will it have to have my MacBook switched on?

The AppleTV access the net by itself right? so I wonder if it can sync to the NAS box?

Thanks for any help

Craig. :)

:apple: TV only communicates with iTunes, so you'll need to have a computer switched on in order to stream to the device.

You actually have two options. Either stream your content, which requires iTunes to be on or you could sync your content.

At least for today.

There must be a way/hack to get around this.

I doubt Apple is running iTunes to stream move trailers to everyone's Apple TV and I doubt that YouTube will either.
