Will upgrading the software darken the screen?

I've heard the update may make the screen not as bright. I've got the series 7 (love it, no dots on mine, rich blacks) but i noticed when showing photos outside under an umbrella in open shade that the screen was very hard to see. A friend with an IPhone in another state said he can view photos outside.

I have it on max brightness all the time with auto off.

Has anyone noticed the upgrade making their screen dimmer? Thx.

i didnt notice the screen being any darker after i updated my iphone. I have a seven series screen and love it as well. I have mine set to 1/3 brightness and i dont think i have any problems viewing pics outdoors? Anyway no change in brightness if you ask me.
