I am considering using senuti to get my ipod songs onto my new macbook (other one died along with library) but does it prevent itunes from opening and potentially wiping my ipod? Thank you so much.

iTunes will open no matter what, as far as I know. However, iTunes will ask you if you want to sync the iPod to this new computer. Just say no, and you'll be free to use Senuti. Should work pretty well. Just make sure your iPod is up to date with the newest iTunes/iPod software, and that you're using the newest Senuti.

Your playlists and ratings, however, won't come through. I don't know of a way to keep those.

Also, Senuti has some preferences as to where it puts the new files, and whether or not it adds the songs to your iPod library. If your iTunes preferences are set to copy songs to the iTunes library, you should have no problems.

You are a legend for replying, thank you SO much. My only query remaining is whether, if I provided my apple username and password during the macbook startup wizard, the itunes will recognise my ipod now and will automatically synch despite it being a new computer. Silly question but just need to double check, thank you so much!!

Playlist help

Lord Patton,
You mention that the playlists wont work. Do I need to redo my playlists manually? What happens if the Itunes and Ipod playlists are different? How do I make the Itunes playlist the same as my current ipod playlists?
thanks in advance,
ryan
