smcFanControl seems like a great great program. however, will extened ramping up of the fans burn them out? are they made to be spinning above 2000 rpm's for longer periods of time?

I've been using smc for about 5 months, and I haven't had any problems. But who knows? I don't really care because I don't want my keyboard to feel like an oven.

It shouldn't affect them too much. Even with my wife's MB fans spinning at 2000, they are doing a heck of a lot less spining total then when the minimum threshold was set to 1500. The MB would get so hot every 5 min the fans would jump to 6000 rpm!!!
