All iPads Will we ever get Whatsapp on iPad?

Hi,
From time to time some news arise about an iPad Whatsapp version to be developed/released… but never happens.

Do you think we’ll ever get it? It’s the only thing that forces me to use the iPhone also when I’m at home with the iPad on my lap..

As far as you know or think, there any technical reason (hardware, ipad OS etc.) that prevents such development? Or it’s simply a commercial choice in your opinion?

It's more likely Apple will decrease the price of their premium devices than WhatsApp get an iPAD-OS version...
