Will we get additional controls on AirPods Pros?

Admittedly I'm a late to AirPods Pro, but now that I've had it for a few weeks, it's as frustrating as I anticipated.
The sound is average and the inability to adjust volume, and switch playlists only through Siri.

Suggested new controls:
Volume (one click)
Forward (two clicks)
Back (three clicks)
Pause (two button press or just remove one from ear)
Switching playlists (long press and VoiceOver)

I don't suspect this will change, but improved controls could be upgraded through software.
