I was curious if you will be able to upgrade to the final release of Yosemite from a beta version. Will it automatically show up on the app store once the final release comes out and allow me to perform an update?
That's great to hear guys.
When you recommend a clean install. Would this method work:
1) Make an entire time machine backup of your entire system.
2) Install a clean fresh copy of OS X Yosemite final
3) Restore from time machine backup
I would hate to have to reinstall and configure all my apps, that would take forever. Would this method qualify as a clean install too?
Sorry to just jump in here, but no, that wouldn't technically be a clean install. Unless you specify for only certain folders to back up, TM backs up the entire system, much like Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC is bootable, TM is not).
when we get the official version will I have to download the whole NEW OFFICIAL file again or just the remaining part ,as an update?
what I mean is,
will the official version be a small update to the DP or will we have to download everything fresh like someone else would do , as if they were still using mavericks?
The final version is (always I think??) a full installer and not a delta.
… probably even use the full installer to update developer previews to the final version. …
Can you help me understand exactly how to go from the DP to the full version when it releases?
But I am correct in advising to use Migration Assistant, am I not?
I would do that, but instead of restoring from the Time Machine back up I would use Migration Assistant. It will transfer all your files and settings across exactly how they were before.
