Music or video? I have a maxed out model and even with the 256gb I'm hating to fill it with music, even thou I'd like to have my Library with me. I gues the option could be get a portable USB HD.
I have just purchased an external HD, a Lacie Rikiki, there I will put my photo and music library (which I dont use much because of Spotify).
It will be intresting to see how I get by with only 64GB.
I actually like this 11.6" MBA so much I will probably sell my iMac.
How much is much?! I'll be putting both my Aperture (66GB) and iTunes (34GB) libraries on mine, but I wouldn't consider either one of those to be especially "much".
Not much in the way of permanent media -- I use Plex on a Mini for a HTPC so I'll probably put Plex on and just transfer video to watch on the current trip. May put some subset of iTunes on -- depends on how I like the speakers -- or may just use what's on my iPhone and use headset or Orbit speaker.
I keep my music/movies/etc on my iMac and on my iPhone 4 so I don't have much need to have it on a third device. For this very reason I choose the 11.6 64G model. It's the perfect size both physically and in terms of memory.
I do temporarily put movies on the Air by ripping the DVDs with RipIt on the iMac, saving to a flash drive a quick transfer to the Air. After viewing I delete on the Air or both depending on how much I liked the film.
Right now I have about 50gig of space remaining and it will only fluctuate down by 8 to 16gig and then that is a temporary situation.
I plan to buy the 64GB 11", so definitely not. I will use it in conjunction with my iPhone and 500gb USB HD. I am only going to keep a select amount of media on the actual Air.
I do plan to upgrade my flash drive when it costs less than $200 to upgrade 64GB
I keep all my music on it, because I like listening on the fly and not have to carry an external. But I did have to delete a significant amount so that I wouldn't be left with just 20GB.
I loaded the pictures I've taken in the past year (around 50 GB) and my most often played music (around 20 GB) on my 128 GB 11" MBA. Still have a comfortable 30 GB available, and the rest of my stuff I have on an external HD. Seems to work well for me.
Although I have close to 100 gigglebites left on the drive, I'll probably use the same playlist I have for the iPad and move those over. Most of the time I'll be streaming using homeshare. The only real time I'll me moving stuff over is when traveling, and that will be 'emergency backup, in case the ipad battery runs out.

I have a 160 gig ipod that I keep my music and media on. It also works great for file storage with my first gen air and will continue that role with my spiffy new 11inch air.
