Fellow Americans, will you be pissed if iPhone 4G is launched first in other countries a month or two ahead of the US launch? (I personally think it's very highly unlikely, but there was a rumor that the 4G will be launched in April in Korea.)

Let's not argue whether the rumor is true or not. If it's true, will you be pissed?

I wouldn't really care because I'm not getting a new phone at least until July because I want to let my contract run out (got my 3G on day 2).

That being said, has Apple (an American company) ever released a major product in another country first?

if apple's factory is in california, wouldnt it make more sense to distribute it closer to them?
I failed geography but last I check China wasn't in California buddy.

To the question, no I wouldn't be pissed. What would be the point in that. OP, when you grow up you'll find there are bigger things to worry about than which country gets the iPhone first.

No, and why should anyone. Apple usually launches things in the USA first, and no one complains. They're a global company after all.

Anyway, chill. It's not going to happen - the USA remains their largest market.

No. What would be the sense in getting pissed over it? I've waited long enough (3G @ launch), I think I can hold out until summer.

I'd be miffed but it.won't.happen

SJ might mess around with other countries but he gets in our bed everynight.

What a useless topic. Why bother posting as to whether you'd get angry in the - as the OP even admitted unlikely - event of Apple releasing the 4G outside the US first.

What's next, a thread on whether people would be upset if Jobs decided Apple should pull out of the electronics business and make nothing but turtle neck sweaters?

no, but i will be pissed if the next iphone won't have any "new" features to compete with the android platform, along with interface updates. it would be reason enough for me to switch to the android platform.

Really? this is a useless topic? But the 100's of dumbass "should I buy a phone now or wait for the new one" topics are ok?

if you have nothing nice to contribute then move along

When I see how ridiculous the 3G networks are in the US, when I see how customers are taking it with interruption of service and all, I think Americans should not even be worried or pissed about getting the technology at the same time/before other territories, I would think that Americans should just be pissed at their cell phone carriers.

I know my French carrier isn't flawless, but I have never witnessed (this still going on after 5 different cell phones) what I did with AT&T and T-Mobile...

The iPhone 4G is going to be a 3G network device..... Am I missing something here? We have always had confusion about iPhones...

1G (First iPhone)
2G (Second iPhone)
3G (Third iPhone)

Dont care, got my 3g on launch day wont upgrade until after that anyway. Although I am excited for them to release it just so I can upgrade to 4.0 on my current phone. 3.0 and the 3Gs were disappointing...

1G (First iPhone)

That is not accurate:

The first iPhone was originally just called the iPhone, but is now retronymically called the 2G on interwebs because it was a 2G-only (GSM/EDGE) device and to differentiate it from the 3G. The second iPhone was the iPhone 3G, which was the first to have support for 3G networks (UMTS/HSDPA). The third and current iPhone is called the 3GS, and is also a 3G device. The fourth iPhone, not yet released, is not yet named but is often misleadingly referred to as the 4G, even though it will undoubtedly be a 3G device. To sum up:

First iPhone - 2G
Second iPhone - 3G
Third iPhone - 3GS
Fourth iPhone - ? (misleadingly called 4G on web)

Apple is a US company. Never gonna happen.

Yes, I always get angry about things that don't matter. Actually, enraged would be a better word. Yes, I will be ENRAGED if this happens.

To the question, no I wouldn't be pissed. What would be the point in that. OP, when you grow up you'll find there are bigger things to worry about than which country gets the iPhone first.

Agreed, if it goes somewhere else first, big deal. It will get here eventually.

I could't care less.

If it'd be to support LTE standards, there'd be a huge possibilty that this iPhone will be released outside the US first as the USA doesn't even have a proper 3G coverage.
Sweden, as well as Saudi Arabia, Korea and Japan will get their first 4G networks during this year. It'd be a mess for Apple if they wouldn't release an advanced device in those markets, meanwhile it wouldn't make any sense to release this device beforehand in the USA.

No. Apple is a multinational company with their HQ in the USA. They have to think global.

Don't care, and in any case, we couldn't do anything about it.
Like movies, it's better to have international release, but what can we do? Nothing.

First iPhone ever was sold 6 months later in France... I had the opportunities to pick one in the US before the official sale, but if I hadn't, i wouldn't care that much.

I just hope that Apple will launch new product at the same time for everyone. :)
