Will you fix a broken ipad or buy a new one?

Hi all, I have an iPad Air 1 16g from 2013 and I recently broke the screen and the LCD.
If I have to fix it , it will cost me about USD50 to buy those parts.
But I am also thinking if I should buy a used iPad pro 9.7 32g for USD280.
I use my iPad just for websurfing, watch Netflix on my couch or sometimes use garage band to play some guitar nothing intense.
Is it worth to fix a 5 years old iPad(camera is also not working)or buy another one?

I rather you get the iPad Pro; it will be a nice jump for your websurfing as I personally experienced crashes on my iPad Air when surfing the Internet with it

At those prices, you’re better off just getting the new 2018 iPad. It’s only $329 and is a good tablet.

Only if it’s the 2017 10.5 iPad Pro. The 9.7 iPad Pro is at 2016 model. The new 2018 iPad has a better processor and screen. It’s also compatible with the Apple Pencil 1st gen.

My grandparents tried to fix the broken display on their iPad 4th generation a couple years ago and to save money they went to some third party place without consulting me first like they usually do. They jacked up that iPad so badly I just can't even. The display glass doesn't even sit properly and you can see inside the iPad along the edge. The home button is all recessed too and crooked half cocked inside. The cover glass also seems thicker than OEM. I felt so bad for them that I ended up giving them my iPad Air 2 in summer 2017 when I upgraded to the 10.5" iPad Pro. So if you do end up fixing anything, take it to the Apple store, but personally I wouldn't do it for a five year old iPad that isn't going to be updated much longer.
