Wall Street Journal says the cost of an iPhone will rise 54% because of Trump's tariffs. At what point will you just say "no" to the price hikes?
People need to stop overreacting. apple will not charge 2300 for a phone thats not a foldable. The most you will likely see is 100-150 raise at most. hell most of the world has had raises in prices for a while. time for US to realise how good they have had it.
So Apple is going to eat the cost and lower their profits? Fat chance.
Yeah they will. They will clearly give some of the cost to the consumers but they aren't going to make their phones going from 999-1099 to 2300.So Apple is going to eat the cost and lower their profits? Fat chance.
It’s not going from $999 to $2300. To answer the question asked by this thread, I would not buy a new iPhone at an inflated price unless I absolutely needed one.Yeah they will. Apple simply will not sell any phones if they do this. Be very bad business.
Chances are they will increase prices across the board in all countries to ease the pain.
The $2300 figure is for a maxed-out (1TB) 16 Pro Max: https://archive.is/AgW9Z. The regular Pro would start at $1429 at that rate. Which I doubt they will do. But the situation will likely also change until September, so it's a bit early to discuss that at this time. In any case, Apple will do what they think is best for their profitability.Yeah they will. They will clearly give some of the cost to the consumers but they aren't going to make their phones going from 999-1099 to 2300.

The $2300 only applied to the current $1500 model. It’s not going from $999 to $2300. To answer the question asked by this thread, I would not buy a new iPhone at an inflated price unless I absolutely needed one.
Yes, Apple certainly could short-term. I think Apple will eat much of the tariff costs and figure out ways to reduce costs elsewhere or grow areas of higher margins (services) to offset the increases. If the tariffs last for years, then Apple will certainly raise prices. Apple might raise prices somewhat in any case, but there is close to a zero percent chance that Apple will not eat some, even much, of the tariff costs. So Apple is going to eat the cost and lower their profits? Fat chance.
I said "no" yesterday when I grabbed a 16 at current prices. I was holding out for the 17, but these are not normal times.Wall Street Journal says the cost of an iPhone will rise 54% because of Trump's tariffs. At what point will you just say "no" to the price hikes?
It's like telling your spouse suck it up. So what if I'm cheating! Think about all those years I wasn't cheating on you. 😆People need to stop overreacting. apple will not charge 2300 for a phone thats not a foldable.
