Can I not use BootCamp to partition my brand new MacBook's drive and then install and boot into Windows XP Pro SP2 ? TigerDirect is telling me I cannot. Now I'm scared to purchase a copy ! The link to the product is: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2571830&body=QA#tabs
I must be missing some detail because I thought this would work. My conversation with the TigerDirect guy went as follows:
Can anyone set me straight please ?
I must be missing some detail because I thought this would work. My conversation with the TigerDirect guy went as follows:
Me: I'm going to create a second partition on my mac and run win xp ppro on it but see the following link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2571830&body=QA#tabs
Me: Notice in the questions and answers someone asks if this windows will run on a macbook pro and the answer was "No". Why is this ? Is this correct ?
Me: I'm intending to use Apple's BootCamp product to dual boot the macbook and run this win xp pro
Tiger Direct: yes is correct wont work.
Me: Darn. Which versions of windows will ?
Tiger Direct: none
Me: Yes they will ! Apple's bootcamp allows you to run windows on a Macintosh
Tiger Direct: you will need to get we apple and ask this question because on are record show wont work.
Me: okay - thanks
