I have tried everything... at least i think i have, but no matter what i do winadmin will not connect to my windows xp computer over edge or 3g networks. it only connects over wifi. HOW DO I GET IT TO CONNECT OVER 3G or EDGE!!!!???? it's driving me crazyyyy!!

u can't unless you've VPN or connect through some proxy into your own network. the only other way i think u can do it, is if you set your router to forward the port number to a specific computer. but you would need to know the ip of your home DSL/Cable.

ok, i just finished downloading a VPN client. I'll see what happens and post the results in a few mins

When you're on your own wireless network (wifi), you're given a private IP on YOUR network. This private IP is on the same network as your Windows box. Your router knows how to route traffic to/from your windows box/iphone.

Once you leave your wifi, and go onto 3G/Edge...you're now in a public space (no longer on your private network). Your iPhone is now given a public IP.

The only way to get into your private network at home, is to set up your router to port forward (whatever port RDP listens on) to your windows XP box. You then need to connect to your Windows XP box using the external IP address of your router.

ok it really sounds like u don't know what's going on :p the phone already has a vpn client. follow the links that people have posted up top

Just search for all the posts I made in the past 2-3 weeks about VPNs here in this forum. Most were in response to using Teleport VNC, but its the same idea for using WinAdmin. I connect to multiple VPNs every day and remotely manage PCs and Macs with my iPhone using Teleport and WinAdmin (yes, even on EDGE). :D
