Hi
Is anyone aware of a Mac application that can stream live football from a URL
in OSX. WinampMac only opens under Classic and does not stream.
The service provider LiveFootballOnline posts a URL which takes the form
http://username:password@ISPnumber;stream.nsv
This URL is posted into the Winamp open file and streams on any PC.
Unfortunately the Application WinampMac doesn't stream and I am hoping that an alternative application can be used.
I have tried QuickTime 6 (Pro), Real Player, iTunes StreamRipperX and VLC but to no avail. I've even considered going down the VirtualPC route but that is positively the last resort - if I wanted a PC I would have bought a PC.
has anyone got a solution???

I would like to know this too :)

I think you should have posted this in the Applications forum, though.

I have looked into this just a while back and I was unable to find anything that could play .nsv. VLC claims compatability, but it doesn't work. I have found many references that there is no .nsv player for the mac.

Since nsv streams require some implementation of activex routines I found a xpi for Firefox that can solve the problem.

Please try it and tell me if it solves the problem :D

You're posting to a thread that's over 1.5 years old. I have a hard time believing that the OP is still worried about it, nor do I think they'll even see your post.
