I've been getting a strange window animation bug when restoring from dock on my Studio Ultra (with ASD) where the window restores to the wrong position, then jumps to the correct position. Happens pretty frequently, but not consistently. Anyone else seen this behavior?

I have no ideas; I've killed all unnecessary apps, checked for rogue processes, checked RAM pressure, confirmed there are no unexpected launch daemons/agents.

I haven’t seen this, but as strange as it sounds, have you tried rebooting (unplugging from the outlet) the Studio Display? It might not help, but it would be interesting to know one way or another.

GPU related possibly or a corrupted Finder preference. Maybe to trash GPU preferences, create new user and try to replicate the problem. If it disappears in new user, then definitely GPU preferences, so delete old caches etc

Similar problem for me (discussed here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ther-mac.2341752/?post=31107277#post-31107277).

The difference is, my windows will open in the wrong position (always bottom left) and have to be manually moved back to where I want them.

Its becoming really tiresome now. You would have thought that Apple woulds have mastered window preferences by now wouldn't you? Seems like such a basic function of an operating system.

does it still happen when you uncheck the 'animate opening applications' box?

That option applies to initial launch of the application (not minimizing/restore) and controls whether the icon bounces while the app is launching. I tried this, but had no effect for the above issue.
