Hi

Iam working as an it-supporter and ive just order the new MBP SR 15,4" 2.2ghz. I need to do support on Windows XP + Vista + OSX . Is it possible to install OSX + Bootcamp with Vista and then install Windows XP Pro via Parallels 3.0 from the OSX platform?.

 Kasper Winding

Why not. You can easly install bootcamp, then boot Vista or even Windows Xp and vista. You can easily install all three, and even run both vista and xp, or just xp on parallels or vmware fusion inside osx.
Thanks

Is it possible to have BOTH vista and xp (as well as mac os x) at the same time with bootcamp?
thanks

You mean install them both, I think yes. Run them at the same time, no.
Thanks

Heating problem..

Note that there is a heating problem (the fans do not seem to work) when you currently run Vista or XP Windows in Mac Book Pro under Bootcamp 1.3. The fans do not seem to kick off when the temperature is high; fan driver or problem with power management. It gets quite hot (60-70 degrees) which on an aluminium box it is.

K.

You could also install and run them both in parallels at once. I think you can also install them both in bootcamp (two partitions) but, of course, your can only run one native OS at once. You could however also install Windows XP in bootcamp and then install parallels workstation in Windows XP and run Windows Vista in parallels workstation on XP ;) Or you install parallels desktop in OSX and install Windows Vista in it and then install parallels workstation in Vista and run Windows XP in there... whatever you like ;)

Can you install Vista or XP through Boot Camp, and then ALSO access that same install through VMWare's product (or Parallels)? Obviously that would be the best of all worlds, since you wouldn't have to maintain two (or four) separate Windows installs.

I know that's a feature that both companies have talked about, but I wasn't sure if either had actually implemented it, and if there are any drawbacks.

just wondering, is it possible to have two operating systems on parallels?

Sure. You could install 30 different OSes if you wanted to.

I think he meant at the same time.

So would it be possible to run XP and Vista at the same time, both through Parallels? Like, running all 3 OSs at the same time.

I have a question related to boot-camp and parralels. I have Xcode 2 on my install cd of 10.4.0 and wondered what the difference is between that and the new apps
