Clearly, they are embarrassed by the large number of people who installed Windows 7 on Windows 8.1 machines. Glad they are offering the upgrade free.

The real selling point on Windows 10 has to be stability, however. Windows 7 is rock solid.

In spite of all the advanced stuff they showed, the thing I'm most pleased about is they've fixed the control panel + settings menu fiasco!

Yep. Still using Windows 7 on my work laptop, haven't had any major issues. Got 8 on the home laptop, but I am much happier with 7.

Windows 8 hate is the new Vista hate. I would bet a lot of people just parrot what they read others say online, hear etc

I like win8, its been solid, stable and fast. I'm looking forward to win10, but really, I see windows 8 as a great platform.

I'm hoping for more improvements (as they promised) to OneDrive. That is still very finicky .
