Hi,

Has anyone tried Windows 10 on a Mac Pro 1,1? I want a Bootcamp drive in my Mac Pro again, especially because I just got an ATI Radeon 5770 PC card (flashed for Mac), and am curious to see how it performs. Windows 7 is a bit heavy, and I am a bit curious about Windows 10.

(BTW, is a Mac-flashed PC card fully Bootcamp/Windows compatible?)

Thanks,
MDD

There might be issues. BootCamp 4 is the only supported version for Mac pro 1,2 and 2,1 and that supports only Windows 7 in both 32Bit and 64Bit modes.

It seems to work fine when I upgraded from Windows 7. I did do the reset within W10 to format it and that created problems with not being able to access the boot disk, but I was able to reinstall after some hassle and rebuilding the ISO. Apple 5770 drivers are an issue too, not sure if that will be an issue with the flashed unit or not though.

I answered the Windows install question in another thread.

As an FYI, a nice guy named Florian has made improvements to the original flashing methods that Netkas did a few years back. Should now be possible to see boot screens on DVI port via DVI, not just DVI to VGA.

Sometimes Windows will output on different port then one you are using, so first boots into Windows can be tricky but afterwards should be fine.

So Windows 10 is running fine on your 2006/2007 Mac Pro? Drivers and everything work?
