I have my Windows 10 Pro license which I activated on my 2019 Mac Pro under Bootcamp with no issues.

Recently I have experienced that Microsoft seems to have withdrawn the activation. Even if it says that the Mac Pro has a Windows 10 Pro Digital License Key attached to it, it is now able to activate it.

When I click to troubleshoot the issue, it appears to suggest that I buy a Windows 10 Pro for Enterprise to go along with the Workstation kind of computer.

At this point, I don't need an Enterprise license and any advanced feature. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Are you able to successfully use Windows 10 Pro with no Enterprise licensing?

"Digital license" is tied to your hardware (mainboard). You don't need a key after reinstalling/resetting Windows, it will try to activate at first contact to www.

Please check if your installation is really deactivated, go to settings -> update&security -> activation. Check also the installed edition, keys and license aren't interchangeable for different editions.
There is no necessity to use the edition for Workstations, you could also use Pro or Core.

I'm seeing these messages.

It acknowledges I have a Windows 10 Pro digital license for the device running Windows 10 Pro.

I click on the only option which is to "Upgrade your edition of Windows".

But when I do, it says it's unable to upgrade. Strange.

I also see this in an FAQ document "Licensing Windows and Office with Mac". I have highlighted the last two sentences which seems to fit what I'm experiencing.

Scenarios

Your options for licensing Windows to run on a Mac depend on the specific scenario. The following explains the most common scenarios.

Note: If you require full installation media for deploying your Windows upgrade acquired through Volume Licensing, you may download the files from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) or order physical media through your Microsoft reseller.

Scenario 1: Installing and running Windows as a second full operating system under Apple Boot Camp on a Mac

You can install Windows as a second full operating system on a Mac using Apple Boot Camp in addition to the already installed Mac operating system. To acquire the necessary Windows software license to accommodate this scenario—which allows you to keep the Mac operating system on the computer—purchase Windows Enterprise Upgrade with Software Assurance through Volume Licensing. Software Assurance for Windows allows you to run Windows Enterprise on a computer even if the Qualifying Operating System is still installed and running on that computer.

Some questions....
-Where do you live (because of different, country-depending EULAs)?
-Is the key from retail COA/keycard?
-Or was it from upgrading Windows 7 to 10?
-Do you use an offline account or login with Microsoft-account?
-Did you tie the digital license to your Microsoft-account before?
-Or is it a company-license/volume-license?

Please run command-line as admininistrator and type slmgr.vbs -dlv and post the output as a screenshot.

This the above and got this. Then I ran the other one suggested and got the other error message. Maybe a licensing issue. I'll just not activate it. :(

This appears that you've found a link discussing volume licensing, which is not applicable in this case.

On my machine (w/ activated OS) the output-window looks like this, after command " slmgr.vbs -dlv":
Blogg.CMD_.png

I am wondering why you got not expected output.

What you also can try:
Disconnect internet, open cmd as admin and type or copy "slmgr.vbs ipk VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T", enter, restart, try again online-activation.
This command will install the generic retail key for Windows 10 Professional, works only for installation and activation of digitally-licensed hardware. It is neither valid for any volume- or KMS-based activation, nor N-editions.

SOLVED: I'm writing back on this to advise that my issue has been solved.

Windows 10 in Bootcamp doesn't like my two PCIe NVMe cards - a Sonnet m.2 4x4 and a Micro Connector - while trying to update.

The next straw was when the latest Windows update was also being rejected.

I decided to remove everything connected to the Mac Pro. Then everything went smoothly from there. All the Windows updates went through.

When the updates were all done, my Windows 10 Pro key was recognized once again.

I connected everything internal and external peripherals. One after another Windows started recognizing and installing the drivers for it with no issue.

Putting it here just in case someone else experiences a similar issue.

Windows licensing is one of those reasons I avoid windows like the plague (well .. the meaning that expression had in 2019, since 2020 we know people don't actually avoid things like they should when there's a "plague"-like commutable disease going round and killing them by the hundred thousands).

Do take care with adding and removing hardware from your machine: that's what's causing the license to not match your computer anymore and it deactivating itself. Had it even happen back when I was still running copies inside parallels: change the virtual settings a bit too much and it goes "no more license for you". It's even worse on bare metal as it can see more of the hardware there.
