Windows 2000 + Boot Camp

I know this has been asked on forums before but i've never seen any definitive answers.

I want to install Windows 2000 on boot camp once i get a macbook because I dont like Windows XP but i do quite like windows.

I plan on using OS X as much as possible (and who knows - might make me never use windows again!) but as far as im concerned - macbook is slow at most things - especially non-native software so i want to use windows for it.

If anyone has got Windows 2000 running with boot camp successfully please let me know how.

You can use windows 2000 right inside of Mac OS X at almost native speed!

I got a copy of parrallels on my PC for when i get a macbook. But the idea of OS X taking up a load of RAM as well as windows 2000 needing it sounds a bit dull.

Anyway..funny thing is, I searched before i posted this topic. Then i searched after posting it and found http://forum.onmac.net/showthread.php?t=1096 Theres a step by step guide here. Aint got a macbook so cant follow it. So if anyones interested in following it and posting their success/failure i'll be happy to listen to it.

I'm running Win2K in Parallels on my iMac, and it's surprisingly good. Responsive even with only the stock 512 MB. I also have XP Home in Boot Camp. I used 2K since I didn't want to muddy the XP activation waters.

Anyhow, what is it about XP that you don't like? Under the hood it's basically 2K with fixes. So you could remove lots of the unessential stuff before installation with nlite and turn off the eye candy and turn on the classic interface and be none the wiser, and be sure you have compatible drivers for your hardware....

Thats what I dont like about it - its just a fancy version of 2k....so i'd just prefer 2k. Apart from networking, I havent seen any decent fixes in XP that the 2k service packs havent fixed and im used to all the 2ks networking querks now anyway.

To me, XP just feels like a slower version of 2k lol. For me, the only good thing about windows is the large number of applications available and so far I've never found an application that works on XP and not 2K that i want to use.

I've tried changing to XP numerous times but each time i've ended up having to format it off my PC and change back to 2k lol.
