I want to know if anyone has some information about upgrading from a Beta version of a Windows OS to RTM or a newer version of a Beta (when these show up). I want to install Windows 7 but with all the files and such installed, I don't want to delete/format and reinstall just for a newer build of a Beta or RTM.

Does anyone know if it would even be remotely possible (consider microsoft's past betas for vista) to upgrade Windows 7 Build 7000 to a newer build?

From what I've heard, no. I don't believe upgrading is even an option between builds. I know it's kind of annoying, but it is a beta after all. But if you're talking about upgrading a beta to an RTM then that's just a terrible idea. Upgrading in the first place is usually a terrible idea (with any OS).

yes i agree that upgrading is not a good idea. but there might be a way to back up all your data and apps, and then do a fresh install, and then restore your data and apps
