Hey there everyone,

I have just recently installed the Windows 7 beta on my previous Windows Vista Home Premium laptop (Dell Inspiron 1720).

When I went to connect my iPhone 3G to my laptop today, I noticed that Vista started searching for the correct drivers to install the device properly because of the fact (I'm assuming this here...) the device had not been connected to this version of Windows yet.

However, after a few seconds, the drivers failed to install and I have been searching for a solution ever since. My iPhone 3G is jailbroken and is currently running the 2.1 firmware. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this issue and get my iPhone working with the Windows 7 beta? Or am I simply doomed at the fact that I chose to install this beta in the first place?

Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated.

Thank you all for your help.

Kind regards,

Hey, thanks for your fast reply :)

I have iTunes 8 already installed. Doesn't seem to fix my issue though.

What I did notice though, is whenever I have my iPhone plugged in, and the screen is turned on (so by means of the home button or lock button, either works), by activating my screen so some sort of functions are being performed on the device, I hear the Windows sound for a device being connected. As soon as the phones screen shuts off back to sleep, the sound of the device being connected gets played.

Any thoughts?

I'm amazed it even works.

People that need things to work should not be installing beta OSes.

And if they do, they should not complain when stuff does not work with it.

But people will anyway....

I am having the same problem. Its not complaining that it doesn't work, its asking if anyone knows how to make it work. Big difference.
