Windows 7 on 10.6

OK so I've basically looked everywhere, I'm seconds from giving up, but maybe you guys can help me. I was a bit late for the Win7 RC but I found what seems to be a reliable torrent, I downloaded 64bit 32bit and have burned dvds of both, neither of which work. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard, already partitioned the disk, it seems to recognize it as a win7 dvd but when it goes to install it, all I get is No Bootable Device. Is it the file i downloaded? The DvD? PLEASE HELP SOMEONE

You have to use Bootcamp.

I'm pretty sure you can create a FAT partition using disk utility and then install w7 onto that and let W7 format the partition to NTFS.

Thats how i've done it in the past.

Are you sure that the DVD's are ok?

No, I'm not :S duno if i burned them the right way or anything. I used disk utility to burn the contents of the .iso with 4x speed, everything went well, or so it seems, but then I get the NO BOOTABLE DEVICE. Does anyone else have personal experience using a torrent to install Win7 with bootcamp?

IS the DVD in the drive and then your resetting your mac and holding down alt and selecting the DVD?

Yea that's one of the things I've tried. Restarting with the bootcamp install, just restarting and holding Alt, and almost every other option I've found. Only option i get is my MacHD

Tried both methods, I'm not really sure where to look for a reliable copy, in all the torrents i've tried the comments are positive so it should be working. Does anyone else know where to find a good download?

Sounds like a bad burn to me. Or may be even the boot sector of the downloaded ISO is corrupted or something. One way to verify is to look for the checksums of the ISO from Microsoft site and then validate that the checksum of the ones you downloaded matches that. If it doesn't - consider yourself lucky it did not install. You do not want to do that anyways.

I'm gona be completely honest with you, I'm not sure what you mean by that lol, All i know is if there was a problem with the torrent there would be some really bad feedback. How would i go about checking for what you were talking about? lol

You used the contents of the .iso? Or did you just burn the .iso as is? From your post it sounds like you dragged the .iso's contents onto a DVD, but I could be wrong.

Double clicked the .iso, then right-clicked the disk image and clicked Burn to disc, 4x speed.

Again, it sounds like you're opening the .iso file. You just burn the .iso as an image.
