Windows 7 RC on Santa Rosa MBP?

Hey people. I know there are a ton of questions already about Windows 7 but its hard to find answers based on a specific model.

So I was just wondering... Those of you who have the Santa Rosa MacBook Pro (June 2007 model)... Have you successfully installed Windows 7 RC via Bootcamp? Easy/hard? What works and what doesn't? 32 bit or 64 bit?

I just did it today, with the 64-bit iso. Don't do it. I know need to download the 32-bit flavour and try again. The boot camp drivers, which you for sure need, don't work with the 64-bit flavour.

Could you please post or direct me to those instructions so I can keep my 64 bit install? Thanks! Otherwise, OP, it works great! Almost as quick as 10.5! But thats just because we're using the best computers available, PC or otherwise.

I have a 2.2 Santa Rosa MBP and I installed the 64-bit version; however, using the .iso from MS won't work until you first follow a couple of steps as a workaround.

Go to this thread and follow their instructions:

Make sure you follow every step, including the one about getting the 64-bit drivers for bootcamp for after the install.

It worked for me, and I now have the 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC 1installed with drivers and all.

If you prefer to not bother with the 64-bit version, then just get yourself a copy of the 32-bit version, it installs without any problems or modifications, and the bootcamp drivers on the Leopard install disk work fine.

Well I got it up in running. Yay!

Only ran into one issue which was setting up an external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster T240HD) but that was solved by downloading and installing the Windows 7 drivers from Nvidia's website.
