Windows 7 student download/install possible?

Hello,
I'm new here and im not sure this is the right place to post this, ill give it a try.
I had a quick question, and i hope someone cool can answer it.
Being able to get windows 7 home or professional editons at 30£,(student promotion in UK) i would love to install it in my bootcamp on my macbook pro.
The only Problem is.. when i buy it, i download the windows 7 OS, i dont have any dvd for it.
Can i still install it on bootcamp through the download or do i need a windows 7 dvd?? it would really suck ass to go buy it the full price.
I tried to start the download and i get a .exe file.. wich ofcourse i cant run on my snow leopard (right?) so i cant even start the proper download.
So is there any way I can install windows 7 without dvd through download on my mac?
If anyone can answer my question it would be bloody brilliant.

AFAIK, there is no way to install win7 from the .exe on OS X. I think some people were trying to work around this, but I don't think they have had any luck. You need the dvd, and I'm pretty sure you could have requested it when purchasing the download (i think someone said it was 13 euros). You should try and contact microsoft and see if you can still request the dvd to be sent.

Basically it seems that you need some way to run Windows, either to upgrade from or to convert the download to a normal disk image.

The odds of being able to install from the DVD, even if it is labeled upgrade, are increasing with reports of successful installs from the retail upgrade DVD.

There is nothing simple about Windows licensing.

If you already have windows running, do the download on there. It will download an exe file along with two other pak files. Run the exe and it will eventually give you a folder with the install files. Put that folder on a disk, thumb drive, or usb drive and then you can install from there.

If you don't have windows running yet, you should ask a friend. I was able to complete the download in about 35 minutes this morning.
