Post you WEI score just for fun :) BootCamp only !

On Vista my Mac Pro 2006 got everything on 5,9.

On Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit it's as follows:

Processor (2x Intel Quad Core Xeon E5345) 7,5
Memory (32 GB DDR2 FB-DIMM 800 MHz Micron working as 667 MHz) 7,5
Graphics (HIS ATI Radeon HD4870 512 MB) 7,5
Graphics in Games 7,5
Hard Disk (Kingston SSD 40 GB) 7,2

What the deuce? How do you guys have a 7.5 with a 4870 and I have a 6.something with a 4890?

Your score for your GPU should be higher than 6.X. Have you tried downloading new drivers. I know that without the recent drivers my GPU got a 6.0. Try running the benchmark several times.

7.6 for my mac pro japan

Normal HDD's will always have 5,9. Only SSD's can go higher.

What is that software you are using on your windows desktop with the weather and computer stats and all that?

rainmeter my friend :), any other questions just shoot. As you can see in the last picture I am running mac os x, ubuntu linux 9.2 and windows 7 ultimate 64 bit at the same time!

2008 8-core MP. My score is a 5.8. My boot drive (stock mechanical WD 320GB) is the bottleneck.

Processor (8-core 2.8GHz Harpertown): 7.7
Memory (8GB): 7.7
Graphics (flashed 8800GT): 6.9
Gaming Graphics (flashed 8800GT): 6.9
Primary hard disk (WD 320GB 7,200-rpm): 5.8

However, I put relatively little stock in WEI scores. I understand the point of them (to help average joe consumers choose appropriate software), but they don't really paint the whole picture when it comes to performance.

You may want to pick up a couple of X-25M drives and set them on RAID0 that would give you 7.9 and your machine will boot so fast and your apps will close and open so fast.... it will be like nothing you ever experienced before.

You could use a better video card. Feeling lucky? The GTX 480 is almost out and would set you at 7.6.

5.8 is a pretty decent score how many years have you had this machine for?

It better do a damned sight better than that, seeing as my 4890OC gets me a 7.6.

Also, one can only hope there's a Mac version of the GTX4 series, because I'd rather be rockin' nvidia than ATI:eek:

Am I the only one that considers these 'scores' lame and especially inaccurate gimmicks? It just screams 'tacky' (nothing out of the ordinary for windows).

Dont worry that it wont work with Mac OS. Install the card anyways and windows willl let you use it, keep your old mac approved card inside the system as well for quartz related apps. Otherwise you will have to wait the usual year or two to get the new hardware and it wont be new by then....

My new Mac Pro 2008:

Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5462 @ 2.80GHz 7,7
Memory (RAM) 32,0 GB 7,7
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series 7,5
Graphics in games 7,5
Main HDD Free: 20GB (Total: 37GB) 7,2

Windows 7 probably needs 16 cores for 7,9 :D

My mac pro 2008 Quad core
2.8 GHz (E5462) Quad-core processor 7,2
Memory 4 GB got a 7,2
My GeForce 8800 GT got a 6,9 in both categories
and my miserable Hdd got a 5.9
Total score 5,9 =/
