When Windows 7 arrives on October 22, assuming you're updating to it: Which edition best fits your needs? I'm a power user, so Windows 7 Ultimate is the obvious best fit for me.

I already got Windows 7 Ultimate (N) (both 32bit & 64bit). Installed on a few machines...

Not to mention that I got all the versions :) on 2 DVDs. 1for 32bit, 1 for 64bit versions.

Objection, the question assumes facts not in evidence, e.g. that will ever buy another Windoze OS:D

My new job - I took a massive paycut... :(

Windows 7 Basic upgrade's like a $100?

Not worth upgrading my $379 Acer from Vista Basic...

Not worth upgrading my old Win XP Thinkpad (only worth about $100 to start with).

I spent $25 instead to upgrade to Snow Leopard... :)

My dad got three copies of Windows 7 Home Premium for our computers - XPS 410, Studio 540, and Studio 1537 - during the special discount period. I'm looking forward to it, especially getting a retail box with it.

Shouldn't you have included "none?" because that is the edition I'm going to buy...

Pay attention to the thread before you come in and make a fool of yourself.

you would find a "joke" like that funny. The reality is, a lot of users use both and could care less about mac vs windows. only fanboys perpetuate that feud and its lame. bottom line, both your posts don't really add anything to the thread. I personally am going to buy the microsoft action pack and have all versions, so i can't wait. I just need to get some partitioning software so that i can dual boot my work PC so that i can load WIN7 on it. I am stoke for the official launch!

I think it was a joke, and a damned funny one at that. Take a chill pill will you?
