I've never owned an SSD before, so I don't know about the kinds of r/w speeds I've been missing out on. For my nMP, I would love to purchase an external SSD to WinClone Windows 8.1 on and save my 1TB internal space for Pro Tools & Premiere projects. Would this external be a good fit along with a Samsung 840 Pro? The only apps I'll be using in Windows are 3DS Max, Photoshop CC, and some light gaming.

What's a better use of my internal space? Would it be best to save it for my OS X apps? Would 3DS get any real benefit from 900 r/w speeds vs 400?

Also, which 250g drive would I need if I go the external route? This or this?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: if I go the external route, would Time Machine be able to back it up along with my main storage? My external storage setup is a Drobo 5S (Time Machine) and an incoming Drobo 5D (as my main storage space for nMP). Time Machine shouldn't have any problem backing up the Drobo 5D, internal flash, and external SSD, should it?
