Just got my Mac Pro today. I immediately put in a 320 GB Seagate 7200.10 that I just bought from NewEgg, and installed Vista on it. I noticed right away that the drive is pretty loud, but googling around shows that it generally is considered a loud drive. My problem is that after installing some games and playing for a few hours, Vista just popped up "Windows detected a hard disk problem", back up now or you might lose everything, etc...
My question is, is this drive bad? Or did something go wrong with bootcamp and maybe its just a bad sector or something. Of course from my description there is no way anyone can answer that, but someone can at least point me in the right direction so I can find the answer. Unfortunately the error message leaves alot to be desired, so what good utilities are there in Vista that can tell me the health of a SATA drive?
