So, like the title explains, whenever I log in to windows XP, it immediately restarts. The problem started today when I went onto my Windows partition for the first time in about 5 days. Prior to this, I had installed Leopard back when it was released (I pre-ordered it) and it worked fine. I had run software updates, switched back and forth between mac and windows, and had no problems whatsoever. But today, when I log in to Windows, it immediately shuts down. I had run a software update yesterday, so I am not sure if that had something in it that caused windows to act so randomly. Any advice on how to fix this would be great. I have a MacBook Pro, 2gb RAM, 2Ghz Processor, Windows XP SP2.

Windows immediately restarts after log in

well, yeah. It is set to my mac. I don't see how that will cause the windows side to immediately restart without me touching anything as soon as i log in.
Sorry your right what do you mean by log in? have you got it set to enter a
password rather than just going straight into the os? if so the only thing i could
suggest would be to disable the password then set whatever os you want to boot into.

Sounds like it might be blue screening right after you log in. Try booting into safe mode and see if that gets you in.
If you do, right click my computer, select properties. On the window that pops up, select the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Settings" button. Uncheck "automatically restart" under "system failure". Then try again I guess. Instead of restarting once you get something that would cause a blue screen, it will just stay on the blue screen. From there you can see what the error message is that caused the blue screen and maybe go from there.

All that comes up is the user, which i am the only one. And i click it to log in. thats about all, no password.
I did uncheck automatically restart after system failure, and it still does the same thing. I can boot into safe mode fine and navigate around all right. I think i need to reinstall my boot camp drivers, but i have no idea how to, since i can really only function in safe mode, where i cannot install anything.

I ran AVG, Adaware, and RegClean. Nothing serious there to fix. I don't think it would be malware because i took like 5 days off from going onto my windows side. prior to that break, i didn't download anything and everything was working perfectly.
Highly unlikely to be a virus as there are no known Mac viruses in the wild at
present and even if your Mac did get one from windows it wouldnt harm it

Ok, well is there a way to reinstall the bootcamp drivers?? this is not malware or a virus.
