So I'm trying to set up iTunes on my brother's PC - and share some of Apple's brilliance. But I get this message when I run the installer:

1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime.

Any idea what that means? How to resolve it? Thanks for any help.

I'm a recent convert and I wish I could help more. Maybe your download got corrupted somehow.. so try dling it again. Also run windows update, if I remember they post updates of installshield from time to time. Let me know how it goes. Oh, and you're running XP/2000 correct. I tried it on my win98 for the hell of it and the installer prompted xp/2000 was needed for installation.

Problem solved

A restart and a new d/l did the trick. Now working smoothly on XP. God... I can't wait to get back to my mac.

Nice. Good to hear all is working.

I tried to install it on my laptop at work. A gateway solo 9300 running 2000. But the install hangs at install quicktime 6.4.
Ideas?

Try downloading a Quicktime installer from Apple, use that before itunes... I'm assuming QT and iTunes come bundled otherwise...
