why don't you end the htm process
eva01 said:Activity Monitor, then make sure it is showing all processes, look for this thing htm and then press quit, then try and delete the program
and if it deletes i would restart your computer just to make sure
HaMmer said:Good call, I should have thought of that (don't use too many utilities); there's no 'htm' or now 'wmphelp.htm' process that's shows up in Activity Monitor, but it still prevents me from deleting WMP in the trash.
stoid said:Log-out and log back in, that should quit any active processes that would keep you from deleting 'htm'. In the off chance that this doesn't, restart, and that will certainly allow you to delete the file. Since it's an htm file, quitting all open browsers/help readers ought to do the trick.
to delete WMP click on Trash then open the Terminal application. In Terminal type cd followed by a space and drag Windows Media Player from the "Trash window" onto the Terminal window and hit return.
You should now see something like your_computer_name:/.Trashes/501/Windows Media Player.app your_username$ in the Terminal window.
Now type cd .. and hit return. Now if you type ls and hit return you should see this: Windows Media Player.app. To trash WMP now type sudo rm -rf "Windows Media Player.app" and hit return.
When prompted for Password: type your administrator password. This should empty the trash and thus remove WMP.
