If I decide getting a macbook pro, I am going to put windows on it for games, and I was wondering if my mbp will slow down when I load windows on it
I think it is 1.5 GB. Maybe 2.
If you use parrallels software, you will notice a perfomance drop in windows, but i assume you will go with bootcamp.
Boot camp doesn't slow you down at all, as a matter of fact, i run windows on bootcamp and its the smoothest i've ever seen windows run before.
Greetings!
I am still (one month) new to the mac environment, and still (have to) operate and network with a heavy commercial Win environment.
i am right now getting used to Mac ways to do things, and will soon install BootCamp and Win xx. Preferably to Parallels, since I also plan to retain MS Flight Sim X (if viable, hopefully, since it's such a resource hog!) and only BootCamp evidently allows for full graphics capabilities (DirectX, etc...). I'll probably have to go to NTFS for Win partition formatting (I need to also install some Win progs I use for brochures). But I can always read/write to my large USB drive on the network from both the Mac and the Win partitions.
Any additional input on this thread, I will closely watch since I want to ramp up rapidly on the Mac of course - lots of $$$ out of this MBP . 2.4gh / 2gb mem. Beautiful display by the way - the best I have seen so far; I had up until recently a Dell 9400 machine with similar display resolution, but not quite the sharpness. Got stolen from my car in a Mall parking lot (and just thinking that I always advise my B&B Guests to get their laptops out of their cards in any case!!!)
Thanks !

No you can't share folders....unless you buy MacDrive, it will read/write to your Mac partition...or make a 3rd partition that's FAT32 and both OSX and Windows can read/write to it. FAT32 limits each file to 4GB, so be careful with this one.
