Are very easily pleased.
My manager asked to see my MacBook, he's a VMS sysadmin and likes tinkering with linux/unix stuff. He was thinking of getting a MBP, and saw my old g3 ibook a while ago and was impressed.
So today I bought in my MacBook, within 5 minutes there was a small crowd of mostly windows certified guys crowded round oohing and ahhing, with several cries of "bloody hell that's amazing!" as I showed them a consumer laptop running windows xp and ubuntu in VM's while itunes, pages terminal etc were all open in OS X, expose running smooth as ever, front row came in fired up a video.
I don't think twice about running things like this, these guys were blown away by it. Bear in mind that we run some pretty hardcore kit here.

I doubt I'll come in next week to find all our kit swopped for mac's, but most of them walked away saying things like "gotta get me one of those!"

That felt good :D

Eheheh, nice post!

It's a nice moment when you show a Mac to Windows users who actually have an open mind and can see the potential and simplicity of OSX.

:D

Just about everyone at work (except IT and our Director of Engineering, who hates Macs) would jump at the chance to use a Mac.

There was a small window of about six weeks where some people went around the DofE and got the CTO to sign off on some MacBook Pros and iMacs, but the DofE and IT finally put a stop to it.

We could still go around them and get the CTO to sign off ... he said that he thinks all the coders here deserve Macs ... but the DofE is keeping an eye on this and has said he doesn't want any of his underlings (not quite his words) using Macs.
