As the title says, could it be even remotely possible to install Windows on an external 120GB SSD that's already used as a boot drive for macOS. I've already read some articles and people had good luck installing Windows on an external SSD using Windows To Go but the situation that I'm in is much different and I haven't found any help online. Also, splitting up the internal 1TB HDD and using it as two separate data partitions under Windows and macOS could be very useful. Do I have any chance of achieving that setup or am I just simply stuck to Boot Camp and installing Windows on painfully slow HDD?

Two thoughts.

120GB is hardly large enough to support two operating systems and Microsoft in their wisdom prevent the installation of Windows on an external drive as an anti-piracy measure. There are work arounds if you search the web.
