I've been running XP Pro for a few weeks now on my C2D MacBook. Recently, it's been locking up for 2-15 seconds at a time. If any processes are going on in the background, they appear unaffected. However, if any audio is playing, it makes that obnoxious stuttering sound, as a scratched CD might in a CD player. I tried the repair routine off the CD, but that changed nothing.

I'm not a Windows guy, but sometimes I need it for school, so it does need to work.

Any suggestions appreciated.

If you're using a macbook then go to the display properties (right click on the desktop) and turn off the power saving features of the graphics card. Had the same problem before and that solved it.

Hope this helps.
