I have no idea if this has been discussed or discovered before, please refer me to other threads if it has. I was using bitcomet on XP because I could do partial downloads (XTorrent now does partial downloads. However I discovered a really neat trick using fusion unity.

This is what happens.

Notice the hidden taskbar at the very bottom of the screen just below the bitcomet icon. Note that finder is currently active and Fusion is set to unity.

Clicking the bitcomet icon at the bottom activates Fusion allowing you to activate the XP taskbar.

You can now use the start menu as you wish.

Click the bitcomet icon when you are finished using the start menu, this will hide the taskbar.

I'm positive there are other ways of doing this, just haven't discovered them yet.

To set this up using fusion.

1. Install bitcomet.
2. Set the taskbar to autohide in fullscreen or single window mode.
3. Start bitcomet if not already started. (you may close the main bitcomet window so that only the icon is shown.)
4. Switch to Unity mode.
5. Follow my screens above to hide/unhide the taskbar.

Read the rest of the post. This is not actually about partial downloads. I just discovered this while using bitcomet.

I've never used BitComet since it's found to be questionable on some trackers. It just looks like an auto-hiding task bar otherwise.
