Hey everyone, I recently installed 64-bit Vista in a Boot Camp partition. Then Parallels and everything is perfect except...
When I insert a DVD now, Windows automatically takes control of the drive. The only way for me to view the contents of that drive is to shut down Vista in Parallels and then reinsert the disk. Then OS X sees it and fires it up.

Now Ive plugged in other devices like my external drive, and I get a little pop up which asks which system I want to use the device with. Is there a way to get that for DVDs as well?

Or any other suggestions for how to separate the 2 so I always have control in OS X unless otherwise specified?

That happens. Fusion does the same. Whatever you plug in, its first detected in your Virtual Machine, then in OS X.

You can change the settings in Parallels or in Fusion.

I can only change the option for how to handle USB devices. Not the super drive. Where can I change it for the super drive?

I think I figured out a work around. In parallels there is a configure option. If you go to CD/DVD there are 2 checkboxes at the top. One says enabled but is greyed out, the other says connected. Uncheck connected and then the disc loads into OSX. I would rather be prompted like it does for USB devices, but this will work just fine.

Yeah, sorry for not responding, thing is I have Fusion and don't use Parallels, so saying something where to find it would have been a lie.
