This has been circulating around the net for a few days now, but I've not seen a discussion about this here yet.
It's a fact that Vista upgrades will not allow you to do a clean install. You must install Windows XP first, then install Vista on the top of that.
As many people know, this means the suck for many people. For one, it makes the Vista nuke-n-install process suck for everyone who got the upgrade, and for another, as many of you know, a upgrade on top of a older OS isn't the best way to do things stability-wise.
Many of you who bought XP and got those "get Vista later" deals are hosed. Sucks to be you. For the rest of you, I'd suggest you buy Vista full, if you are buying Vista at all.
And to the rest of you who know your stuff: if any of your family or friends bought a upgrade of Vista, and hosed their system and ask you for help... I feel for you.
