I've been using XP on my Intel 2.0GHZ Core Duo for a while now, but one of my latest installs really killed the performance of the machine. Windows crashed quite a bit and Half Life 2 stuttered quite badly most of the time. I tried installing the Omega Drivers again, but this didn't solve anything.

I formatted and reinstalled Windows. Now I cannot connect to my BT Home Hub at all! It says the signal strength is Very Good, but it has 'Limited or No Connectivity'. The WEP key is correct and I connect when booted in OSX.
I've changed nothing in the install process...

So I reinstalled Windows again - same problem, no connection! Any ideas?

Try just reinstalling the network adapter driver, or trying one from a 3rd party that uses the same chipset. For me, Windows has also been troublesome due to the shoddy drivers included with BootCamp. However, like all things beta, don't expect it to work 100% as expected or even to work well at all. Hopefully the next update will fix many common issues.

Ok, I'll give that a shot. The bizarre thing is though, everything worked first and second time around! Bill Gates - thank you! :p

for limited or no connectivty error trying the following steps:

go to start menu and click on "run"
type in CMD and press enter or ok
then when the black Dos shell screen opens type the following exactly:

netsh int ip reset c:\reset.txt (press enter/return)
netsh dump (press enter/return)
netsh winsock reset catalog (press enter/return)

then unplug the power from your cable/dsl modem and also from your router, wait 30 seconds plug both back in. then restart the computer. and that should take care of that error for you. hope that helps :)

That sounds ace, but I got mouse button happy and uninstalled the Wireless driver and now it won't pick up anything - even when I re-run the MacintoshDriver CD! I tried to update the driver (as it came up with a hardware wizard) and it recognised it as aDell card, but then can't install as it's looking for Dell drivers that aren't there!

Can anyone who has a damned clue what Windows is doing, tell me how I can update the driver?

I feel like a total n00b with Windows. I can fix Mac problems or at least figure out where to look! If my parents had a PC, they would simply not ever use a computer. I'm glad they use my old Mac at home.

I reinstalled Windows with BootCamp 1.1.2 and I still get exactly the same. I tried to use the 'Repair' option on the connection and I get a problem:

"Renewing your IP Address"

It also says on the connection: Invalid IP Address

Any ideas?

yeah the repair rarely works...depending on your connection type. powercycle(unplug) both modem and router(if u have one). then reboot pc

Its all about the drivers. So far I've found Apple's repackaged Windows drivers to be . . . . lacking. XP works for the most part. Its getting the square peg that is XP into the round hole of the Mac that's the problem, and is something that seems to be hit or miss with Apple's updated Boot Camp drivers.

I've powercycled the router and Mac/PC many, many times. No joy. I'm wondering if the router is getting confused with my MAC address or something? But I can't see how that would occur...
