I am finally going to intall windows on my macbook via bootcamp.

My question is, is xp pro that much more stable than home and worth the extra $100?

I just plan on using it for a handful of games, and for the most part just for fun. :D

thanks

XP Pro has better networking support, and it also is more customisable, the other major advantage is that it will be supported for at least the next 7 years, whereas Home will only be supported for 2 years, and at that point may not receive any Home Ed specific updates.

In terms of performance/stability home will be just as good.

Either would, do but if you can wait until Feb, just get Vista.

Mainstream support for both versions of XP will end 2 years after the release of Vista. The extra 5 years planned for Pro are "extended support" only where only the most critical issues are fixed.

Also home only supports one processor for a total of 2 cores. This only matters if you have a mac pro. :D
