windows xp sp1

I do not yet have an intel mac, I am planning to sell my pc and my ibook, to buy a macbook, I need to have windows as well.
I only have a windows XP service pack 1 disk. I dont plan on spending $300 for a new windows xp, on top of the $2000 for a macbook.
will boot camp work with SP1, or does it HAVE to be SP2?

You must have SP2, however, by following the directions in the previous poster's link, you can add SP2 to your disc.
