Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help me as I’m quite new to Wine and Windows emulation in general.
I’m trying to setup Steam on my Mac Pro so I can download the Windows-only games and am using a 64bit engine as a couple of titles won’t play on x86. My understanding based on checking out the Linux forums is that Wine can’t resolve DNS lookup, so I keep getting a message on steam saying “content server unreachable.”
Based on what I’ve seen, I need to either install the 32bit ‘libnss-dns’ libraries or remove the 64bit ones to fix the issue, but I have no idea how to do that on a Mac because the only terminal syntax I can find is for Linux!
I’ve tried PlayOnMac, Wineskin and installing directly through Terminal and I’ve hit a wall. If anyone could help me work out how to fix this DNS issue or provide a workaround I’d be very grateful.
