When I get email from Outlook users, the attachments are sometimes winmail.dat files. The default program to open these is GraphicConverter but it can't do anything with them.

Does anyone know how to get Mail or some other program to convert the file, and/or how to get Oultook/Windows (boo) users' attachments to not be winmail.dats?

People using Outlook are sending you emails in Rich Text Format which isn't supported by much except Outlook.

If they send you the file in HTML or Text format, you should receive it with no problem.

I've also seen this done by products like ZoneAlarm, and disabling fixes the problem.

Is there any way to take the winmail.dat file and make it readable by Mail?

Also, this person is using HTML format and is still sending out winmail.dat attachments. He/she refuses to use plain text because of his/her signature which gets messed up.

Thanks a lot! This tool is awesome! It doesn't seem to work everytime but this is great anyways!
