Winpwn not working for me!!! "unknown error 6"

Hi all. I'm trying to unlock my 3g iphone but winpwn wont work for me. I used many video tutorials and followed the intsructions to a tee.

But everytime i get to the part where im restoring the custom ispw to the iphone. I get an error code on itunes saying "unknown error 6".


Anybody else experincing this?? Please help!!! thanks in advance.

You have to put the phone into DFU mode or you will receive this error every time.

Turn off the phone while it is connected to usb.
hold power + home button for EXACTLY 10 seconds.
release the power button and continue holding the home button for EXACTLY 10 seconds.
let go of the home button. fire up itunes. restore your custom ipsw.


That oughtta do it.

I made an error in my last post. The error code is 1(not 6)


And i already been putting my phone in dfu mode correctly. For some reason the official restore works perfect with no problems. But when I try the custom restore I get "error code 1".



Any suggestions??

What does your screen look like when you put it in DFU mode?

Also remake the image and try again.

The screen is all black in DFU mode right?

I dont think i messes up on that part.
