Awhile back after I had originally jailbroke and installed intelliscreen and a few other apps, I installed Winterboard to see what that did. i kept it on my phone for awhile and everything I did on my phone seemed to take forever and be delayed. The delay may have been just a second or so but it definitely wasn't normal. Since this was my first jailbreak i thought that was normal and was just something i would have to live with. After reading some other posts that said jailbreak did not slow you down i was curious as to what the issue was so I started to uninstall some programs. Once I uninstalled Winterboard everything sped right back up again.

I have a 3G with 3.1.2 jb w/blackra1n.

Was I doing something wrong with Winterboard or is that normal with this program ?

What you're describing sounds perfectly normal, and is the main reason I upgraded to the 3GS the day it was released - the 3G can't really handle extra background processes (MobileSubstrate, etc) and I experienced very noticeable lag and slowdowns whenever I installed WinterBoard. The 3GS is much better in that respect (much less perceptible lag) due to the 2x increase in RAM and processing power.

thanks for the insight. i'll just be staying with my 3g until the summer when hopefully new and better will be available.
